Testimonials from Parents and Youth Athletes

“Virginia has helped our three active children for many years. She is incredibly enagaging and meets kids at their level. She is a lifelong learner who is constantly seeking to improve and evolve her practice. Virginia has made mindfulness, injury prevention and recovery an enjoyable learning process for our children (and for us). She is a blessing to our family. We highly recommend her if your young athlete is recovering from an injury and/or wants to learn how to prevent them.” - Karen & Rob
"As my 15 year old daughter says, "Sometimes I walk in immobile and walk out doing cartwheels." Virginia's approach is intuitive and attentive, and her rapport with teens is excellent. She leverages her vast experience with and interest in multiple forms of bodywork and mindfulness to create a treatment that provides immediate relief and exercises to prevent future injury. We highly recommend Virginia." - Kristin & Haven
"My daughter (high school cross country and track athlete) had progressed as far as her physical therapist and sports medicine doctor could take her and was still struggling with knee, ankle, and hip pain when friends suggested Virginia.  She took the time to talk through all of her symptoms/issues and came up with a plan to address them and to help my daughter move in ways that lessened her pain (a first in many months).  She really likes how Virginia incorporates different techniques - yoga, physical therapy, kick boxing, acupressure, along with massage therapy in her treatments.  Virginia is very knowledgeable and attentive to details.  My daughter leaves each appointment with a short list of exercises to work on until her next visit. She is still a client and each session with Virginia brings her more stability, flexibility, and strength." - Ann

“Virginia introduced me to tissue work, which is a very important, yet neglected, activity for athletes. She focuses on long term solutions through strength training and mobility, as opposed to short term solutions, such as icing, heating, and taking pain killers. She is connected with her patients and offers guidance and advice about problems throughout the week. She is great at finding exactly what your problem and/or injury is, and then she offers physical and mental support to help you overcome it." - High School Athlete

Steps to Rehab, Strength & Injury Prevention

1) Massage : Reorganize & Retrain Muscles
2) Mindset : Mindful Strength & Resilience
3) Movement : Functional Mobility Exercise

About Virginia’s Approach:  Virginia blends an extensive knowledge in human anatomy and movement with more awareness based practices to teach therapeutic concepts in innovative ways that work.  She has taken workshops and courses over the years with experts in their fields - physical therapy, orthopedic & sports medicine, sports coaches, chiropractors, yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, psychotherapy, meditation, movement and strength training.  She integrates all these approaches with years of experience to teach others how to understand and work with their own bodies better - creating more strength, ease, and wellness.  Virginia specializes in taking these intricate complex concepts and turning them into easy to understand information that can be accessed all day everyday. Fun and functional.

Potential is an unrealized or undeveloped ability.  When we are injured, experiencing pain, or in the process of rehabilitation, our bodies are stuck in unhelpful patterns of movement.  Virginia uses soft tissue therapy, mindful strength training, and functional movement exercises to wake up the brain and change patterns of movement.  Most of all, she believes in fostering curiosity and self empowerment; that through learning some fun tips and tricks, paying attention, and working hard, we have way more potential than we ever realize. Virginia takes time to slow down and help kids and teens work through their obstacles, so that they may become stronger, healthier and more mindful in their bodies. Injury and pain are hard, but it also a great time to learn how the body and mind work and how to use it all better.  New perspectives can be profound and can last a life time.
